In the late ‘70s while I was in high school, it wasn’t that unusual to see “Clapton is God” scrawled on a wall. Less frequently seen1 was the message “Dylan is God.” As my musical horizons expanded after high school, my respect for Bob Dylan grew and I began to think of him as a sort of Ur-Creative, pulling songs out of the collective unconsciousness. So from that perspective, the Battlestar Galactica producers’ choice to use Dylan’s song “All Along the Watchtower” as a critical plot element seems perfect2. Read the rest of this entry »

Team Challenge training begins

Yesterday the Wisconsin team for CCFA’s* Team Challenge held it’s first training session for 2009. We had a great turnout for the session, between 25 and 30 people. This year, we have participants for two different half marathons that are training together. One group is training for the Kona Half Marathon in Hawaii on June 28, 2009, while the rest are training for the Napa to Sonoma Wine Country Half Marathon on July 19, 2009.
